Welcome to HawaUbee.com!
This site is all about the bees, projects, products, and experiences in my first 5 years as a beekeeper. The HawaUbee Apiary, located at Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard has been a work in progress since the summer of 2012. Throughout this site you will see several pictures as the apiary and my degree of interest has and continues to evolve.
Some of the honey bees at the HawaUbee Apiary are participating in a collaborative online hive and pollination tracking effort called The Hivetool Project. In 2015 we successfully launched the first publicly monitored beehive in the state of Texas. Thanks to some trendsetting and motivated educators I am in the process of implementing HiveTool Monitors on beehives located at two Montessori schools and one public school in north Texas.
Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard has been visited by tens of thousands of parents and children alike where they learn about plants and pollinators, thanks to the efforts of farmer Ray and Master Gardner Sue Short.
